‘A’ Level Maths & Further Maths Private Tutor
Maths tuition by Dr Bill Tunstall, a highly experienced mathematics teacher at many prestigious independent UK schools.
I am Dr Bill Tunstall, now based in Attleborough, Norfolk.
From September 2024, after many years of experience of teaching Mathematics to all year groups 7 to 13 in independent schools in London and Suffolk, I can offer private online tuition, or face to face where geographically possible.
My specialities are ‘A’ level Mathematics, Further Mathematics, and also GCSE and IGCSE Mathematics in special cases.

Why mathematics tuition?
Private one-to-one tuition can be very effective for students in several different situations:
- A student is having difficulties which have not been resolved in a usual classroom situation.
- A student has missed part of a course at school for medical or other reasons.
- A student wishes to study a course, for example AS or A level Further Mathematics, which are not offered at school.
- A student needs to acquire or improve a GCSE grade in Mathematics after leaving school to qualify for admission to another course.
- Someone not of school age wishes to study Mathematics at one of these levels for self-development.
- A student about to start A level Mathematics in September wishes to prepare for the big jump from GCSE level during the summer holiday.

About Dr Bill Tunstall
Dr Bill Tunstall (known as Dr T by his students) was an undergraduate at Trinity College, Cambridge in the 1960s. After graduating he gained a PhD for research work in Physics at the Cavendish Laboratory. A four-year research and teaching appointment at Chalmers Technical University in Gothenburg Sweden was then followed by a commission in the Royal Navy as an Instructor Officer, in which capacity he taught in shore establishments, and at sea in the South Atlantic and Antarctica, as well as specialising in Meteorology and Oceanography.
Back in civilian life he then taught Physics and Mathematics at Dulwich College London, later specialising in Mathematics at Woodbridge School, Brandeston Hall Preparatory School, Framlingham College, Ipswich High School for Girls and Finborough School, all in Suffolk.
